Following on our presentation of the selected poems of Innokenty Annensky, a selection of Alexander Blok's poetry is now available here. A profoundly influential figure in Russian poetry of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries, this selection shows Blok not so much in his early Symbolist role, or his later Political and Revolutionary one, but in the more personal mode of his middle period, which often recalls the ironic style of Heine.
